Digital Content Strategist – Las Vegas Aces (Las Vegas · NV)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Las Vegas Aces are seeking a Digital Content Strategist to join the Social Media team. This role will be responsible for day-to-day content publishing, copywriting, and channel management across Aces-owned channels, with a focus on engaging and growing audiences on social media. This role works closely with Aces Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Corporate Partnerships and Community Relations to align goals in the planning, creation, and execution of digital campaigns to be shared across Aces social media.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the day-to-day social media publishing, active community management, and ensure brand integrity is being met across all channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
- Strategize monthly content calendars in accordance with the business needs of the social department, marketing, sales, partnerships, PR, and community
- Be an active part in brainstorming, creating, and executing content ideas for all company initiatives
- Focus on brand building, awareness, and relevancy to help continue growing the Aces brand throughout the Las Vegas market and basketball community
- Stay up to date with relevant trends applicable to the Aces brand and ancillary accounts
- Work closely with the creative team to plan and produce content including but not limited to photo, video, graphics, animation, and illustration
- Sort, catalogue, and upload content to servers and online content platforms
- Work with the Corporate Sponsorship team on content opportunities for current and potential partners
- Assist with implementation of social and digital strategy
- Provide insights based on social analytics, fan sentiment, platform updates, and team/player narratives
- Attend/work Aces games, in person and remote to assist with content posting and graphic updating
- Attend/work Aces related events
- Actively participate in league & department meetings to better understand how content can best support Aces and WNBA business objectives
- Occasionally produce and capture content using a DSLR and or phone
- Assist Social Media Director with daily tasks
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of digital or social-specific field with a track record of success
- Prior experience working with a sports team or brand
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred areas of study include digital media, video production, social media, digital marketing, or communications
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid Nevada driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience working in sports or live events
- Experience with Adobe Creative Applications
- Experience in content creation with a DLSR and phone
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, relating to the Aces’ schedule
- Must demonstrate an active use and understanding of digital and social media
- Must illustrate proficiency in analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of content
- Must illustrate both extensive creativity and strong writing skills for fast-moving social media formatted content
- Must show understanding of social media intellectual property
- Maintain professionalism when speaking with athletes and coaches in work settings, special events, and games
