Social Media Intern

The Chicago White Sox are looking for an entry-level season-long social media intern to contribute to our social media strategy with an emphasis on the organization’s Spanish accounts, @loswhitesox. This individual will work collaboratively with members of Sox Social, SoxTV and Public Relations to create the strategy for these accounts, while helping generate content, highlight the organization’s DEI initiatives and assist with tasks integral to the success of the department. This individual will also contribute ideas and content to the @whitesox channels as well.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create and distribute content for the organization’s Spanish social media accounts, @loswhitesox on X and Facebook
• Establish and create content strategies for @loswhitesox Instagram and WhatsApp Broadcast Channel
• Work with public relations and marketing departments to highlight White Sox DEI efforts, including social media series, street team events, specialty retail lines and more
• Assist with content creation and execution for the organization’s main social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and Threads
• Assist SoxTV in translating Spanish video subtitles, English transcripts and other video needs
• Identify potential storylines targeting multi-cultural audiences
• Work with Sox Social and SoxTV to brainstorm compelling short-form social media content with a focus on, but not limited to, @whitesox Instagram Reels and TikTok
• Edit Photoshop templates to assist with social posts
• Responsible for monitoring and tracking music rights through MLB software
• Tag and track published social media posts throughout the 2024 season
• Track and monitor in-depth social media analytics on a weekly and monthly basis

Requirements

• Fluent in Spanish, verbal and written
• Willingness to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Intermediate understanding and working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Please note that this position is hourly at $18/per hour and runs January – November. 

Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
