Job Overview
Unrivaled is hiring a Thumbnail Designer to join our YouTube team. You will be responsible for developing and executing thumbnail concepts for a variety of video ideas. The ideal candidate is passionate about YouTube and graphic design, has experience creating or working with thumbnails, and can demonstrate a track record of designing graphics or content with a high click rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to create high-quality YouTube thumbnail concepts. This includes sketching people and environments based on video titles and compositing sketches to align with Youtube thumbnail trends.
- Explore a wide variety of ideas and push the boundaries of visual design; stay on top of thumbnail trends, present ideas that will inspire the team, and incorporate feedback into your work product.
- Set, monitor, and report out performance metrics for published thumbnails.
- Catalog and manage thumbnail assets.
- Participate in creative meetings and stay abreast of the team’s creative and business objectives for our YouTube channels and programming.
Qualifications
- An outstanding portfolio that showcases your artistic ability and imagination.
- An understanding of composition, contrast, rule of thirds, and color theory.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- An excellent understanding of YouTube thumbnails, trends, and how they work. Experience working for a reputable YouTube channel is highly preferred.
- Knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and social platform evolution; able to share your experience and insight to elevate our YouTube content strategy.
- You can manage several projects simultaneously with limited supervision under tight timeframes, and can adapt well to changing priorities and deliverable requirements.
- You collaborate well with other creatives and welcome notes and constructive feedback.
- Strong visual problem solving and communication skills.
- Current residence in the Miami metropolitan area is preferred but not required.
